I will argue for the truth of three basic principles. The first two are well-known and easy to argue for. Surprisingly, they are not universally accepted. The third one stands on less firm ground. Principle 1: All knowledge is empirical. Principle 2: When science tells us that x exists in the (physical) universe then x indeed exists. Principle 3: Everything else (that exists) helps us to gain knowledge about the (physical) universe.
